Once upon a time, there was a young Cap Verdian who saw a kite for the first time... Let's just say that his story with kites began a long time ago, more than 25 years ago now.
He can still remember the man who let him try his kite for the first time. He'd come on vacation with his new toys and a theory book. He left the theory to him and went straight to the practice! He was already used to windsurfing by then, and found the kite much easier to learn. Within a few weeks, he was already sending out a few tricks. He soon got bored and went back to windsurfing, until he used his surfboard as a kite... That's when his story really began.
A professional since 2008, Mitu is now the 2008 KPWT waves Master World Champion and four-time runner-up (2010, 2011, 2012 and 2019), and is now a father and husband.
