Story

Project ZOM, a crowdfunding initiative to send snowboards to Pakistan to share the passion.

Julien Herry, aka PICA, is a well-known guide in the valley at the foot of Mont-Blanc. This Chamonix native is an extreme snowboarder and mountaineer, with a track record of success in Chamonix, the Himalayas and Pakistan.

In 2007, he turned this last trip into a project to train local people and share his knowledge as a guide. He created the ZOM Connection association to send snowboards and skis to the Madaklasht valley (Hindu Kush), close to the Afghan border.

He'll be doing it again in 2020, with Victor Daviet accompanying him on the adventure. With around 60 snowboards already sent, the association is continuing and has already collected 2000kg of snow sports equipment this autumn (including 60 snowboards and 8 splitboards, as well as clothing and other equipment). All that remains now is to send it from Chamonix to Islamabad.

If you'd like to be part of this wonderful adventure, you can take part in its participatory financing. It's a simple, beautiful project that puts a smile on your face, and that's good for you.
