Say, my little woodland bunny, you don't think we're going to wait for spring before we hit the wilderness for a bivouac-fondue, do you? You're in a serious home here!
Once again, we've turned to the experts to put together a five-star experience for you: our pals at SAMAYA with their ultra-light tents, and PAJAK the sleeping bag specialist for keeping you warm.
On the program: a fantastic snowshoe hike on the Plateau des Glières with a guide, an evening fondue around the campfire and a night in a palace with a view. Ready to discover true luxury?
Meet up at the cross-country skiing hostel on the Plateau des Glières. We get to know each other, check our bags and get into the mood. After Guillaume's briefing, it's off for the snowshoe trek that will take you to the Location bivouac site. The first part of the hike is wooded and very pleasant.
Then you exit at the top of the pas du roc through a small, very wild valley. You'll get a shot of natural beauty with breathtaking scenery.
Along the way, we'll teach you mountain skills: how to prepare for an outing, the specifics of mountain weather, how to follow a safe route... Then we'll head up to the summit of Sous Dine to find the best possible spot to sleep.

Late afternoon, camp life
Night falls quickly, so we plan to start setting up camp around 4pm. The aim is to learn how to set up a comfortable bivouac in snowy conditions. Choose the best spot, set up your tent and build a fire. Snow conditions permitting, you can try your hand at building an igloo to keep warm 😉
The evening is spent around the fire eating a good mountain fondue. We advise you to put some Chamollow in your pocket or a bottle of pinard. It's up to you. After enjoying the warmth of the fire and the stars, wrap up in your PAJAK comforter, close the SAMAYA tent and you'll be sleeping as soundly as in a palace, with pure mountain air.

Wake up, room with a view!
We wake up quietly, open the tent and let the fresh air cool our faces. You open your eyes and the first rays of sunlight shine on the snow. Paradise. Back home via a superb itinerary. We leave after breakfast and after the camp has been uninstalled.

Head for the Pointe de Sous Dine - 2000m, with its breathtaking views of the Aravis mountains, Mont Blanc, Lake Geneva, the Jura ... Then descend from Sous Dine along the same route to the dairy field valley, which we follow to a pass, before descending to the plateau. Crossing the Plateau des Glières. Even the best things come to an end. Return to the cross-country skiing hostel.
