Follow him on this 2-day hike in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park, between high-altitude lakes where you can swim and summits where you'll spend the evening in a bivouac in an incredible wilderness setting. Tonight we meet up in Cauterets, at the Beausoleil gîte, which welcomes us for this first evening.
You meet the whole fine team and David, your Captain on this trip! After checking your individual equipment, he hands over the group gear and gives you the weekend briefing. What a great way to tease your adventure!

The journey can begin!
After breakfast, your expedition begins from the Pont d'Espagne at an altitude of 1465m. You'll need to warm up well, as over 1000m of D+ await you on this first day.
To start with, we climb up the Marcadau valley to the end of the Cayan plateau in the middle of wetlands. From this point, the trail rises through the forest to Lac d'Embarrat at 2080m!
If you're feeling adventurous, you can jump in for a refreshing swim 😉

Once dry, you continue your journey by leaving the classic path to follow a very wild trail until you reach the south side of the Col de la Cardinquère at 2410m altitude.
A few meters to the other side, you'll find the spot for your bivouac. David suggests you follow it up to the Pic de la Cardinquère at 2510m to enjoy the incredible view over the whole region!

We descend to 2400m to set up the Bivouac and spend an evening by the fire. Get your marshmallows and your best adventure stories ready 😉
Then it's back to your FORCLAZ tent for a night of pure mountain air!

The adventurer's awakening
After a night with your head in the stars, you wake up to the first rays of sunshine. From your bivouac, you can watch the sunrise with a tasty breakfast.
To start this second day, you take a very wild route. You descend to Pé det Mailh. Then, along a path, we reach the Wallon refuge at 1865m altitude.
The route leads into the Marcadau valley, which takes you back to the starting point.
End of journey
The 11km, 1000m D- hike comes to an end. After a debriefing and feedback with David, we return home with plenty of memories!

A WORD FROM FORCLAZ
In 2016, we launched the FORCLAZ project, dedicated to the practice of Trekking. From the outset of the project, we have been aware of the impact of our products and our sporting activity on the environment.
That's why we decided that our mission would be to design and make available the best sustainable products, with the least environmental impact and at the best price.
We use every means at our disposal to ensure that our products constantly reduce their CO2 impact. But for us, the real challenge is to ensure that our products last a long time.
Sustainability is therefore at the heart of our project.
We treat it in 3 ways:
- the timelessness of our design, because we don't want to make you want to buy products you don't need.
- resistance, based on demanding test protocols, which we carry out with real trekkers.
- Repairability, to extend product life as far as possible.
"Don't worry, we'll manage" is something we've all said to our parents at least once... In this case, don't worry, we'll manage!
