Story

Because of his abysmal soccer skills, Colin discovered climbing at the age of ten, feeling much more at home on the rocks than on the village school soccer pitch. Cycling, once his only independent means of transport, quickly became a passion that evolved into mountain biking (once invented). Colin has been teaching in the outdoor community for over thirty years, working with outdoor centers, youth groups, national centers and independent providers.

Colin has climbed and cycled extensively in the UK and also in Europe, with mountaineering and mountain biking trips to North and South America, New Zealand, the Himalayas and Greenland. He is a qualified mountaineering instructor (WMCI) and AMI member, and a British mountain bike tutor and coach.

He is married with five grown-up children, pastors his local church and grows the best potatoes in northern Britain.
